I still remember him calling Mario, "May-rio".

I do this to my friends. Mary-oh is my favorite plumber guy.
I didn't play SMW until a couple years ago, and I was absolute bologna at it. How people manage to be precise with the controls, I'll never know. I'll leave Mario games to the professionals.

I think it helped to just be there in the times. :3 I suck buns at most anything action-based after the PS1 era, basically.

Though I admit that after getting used to the modern 2D Mario controls ala Mario maker, the original Snes SMW is hard to re-adjust to even for me.

The first game I ever owned and completed was Pitfall The Lost Expedition for the Gameboy. Definitely something I was proud of as a kid.
RuneScape may have been earlier but I don't remember considering I just played a bunch of flash games and stumbled upon it back when it was on Miniclip. :uwu:

I very much remember it being OG Super Mario Bros. My parents had an NES and loved playing games and I remember playing a lot of that, Zelda and Duck Hunt, as well as Mario 3 when I was like little little.

Before even knowing a shred of English, I found myself playing Day of the Tentacle over and over as a tiny idiot toddler. If you're familiar with it, it won't shock you to learn that I never got very far LMAO.

I bought the remastered version in 2022 and I'm happy to say that it's still fucking good, even if needlessly obtuse at times.

Yes, since it was included in Day of the Tentacle! It's really goofy just like its successor lol

Honestly that's a good question, it MIGHT have been A-10 Silent Thunder or A-10 Cuba, from Sierra Interactive on the ol' '95, with god mode cheats on. Whether I figured out how to put them on or my father did is anyone's guess, considering I had to be like, 4 or 5 at the time. I guess maybe Humongous Entertainment games from around that time too. Megapede, Cheesy Invaders, both shareware spoofs of Namco arcade games.

My Sega Genesis was definitely an integral part of my childhood but it wasn't for a few more years that we had access to one at all. Definitely early PC child all the way.

You're going in the gumbo pot. :doggin:

I feel like mine was Super Mario Bros.? I faintly recall a memory of playing it at the house I lived at when I was 2. I could be wrong though, in which case it's a toss up between Super Mario World on a Windows 98 PC my aunt had with Japanese SNES emulators on it, and a CD-ROM pack of small shareware games for Windows 98 that my mom installed on her XP computer (which I actually ended up finding on archive.org a few months ago and installed them on my XP virtual machine lol).
And while it isn't my first game, I distinctly remember playing Age of Empires 1 when I was around 4-5 and called it "Age of Vampires".
