I decided to try and read The Aeronauts Windlass by Jim Butcher; AKA the guy who did Dresden Files. Dresden is mildly entertaining if a little old hat at this point, it was kind of generic when it came out. This shit though? Straight ass. Irredeemable garbage.
I was sold on sky pirates in airships and magitech swashbuckling, but instead it was spoiled noble teenagers squabbling over diarrhea thin romance at a harry potter school and warrior cats drama. The cat parts were the best part and that doesn't mean in any way they were good.
Really disappointed. No one makes good Spelljammer/Treasure Planet style media.
