There's a million bajillion games out there, and I'm curious what the first one you remember playing is and how old you are/were!
I am a lifelong gamerrrr, and my grandparents were hoarders with every gameboy game out there, so it was probably one of those, BUT the first ones I can specifically state are Croc 2 and Diablo on my grandpa's old crinkly PC. I'm 26 now and I was probably five at the time.

super mario world was the first ever game I actually touched at the age of 4, but for games that I remember actual details about, I think it's gotta be simcity 3000, the sims, civ 3, quake 3 and unreal tournament being my first games. No one else in my family is much of a gamer but these were games owned by my parents, my brother or hand me downs from other family members to me, all within the same year!!
shout out to first console game which is ratchet and clank, love that game to bits!

lego star wars baybeeeeee, and I think I was like 3 or 4. my parents we're pretty anti-video game for a lot of my life so i didn't actually start playing games til I was like 13. we had a PS2 and they only let me play some of the lego games and a bunch of those shovelware ATV/racing games lol. I did get to play NFS:Underground tho and that is a cool game

A toss up between Super Mario World on the Gameboy Advance and Adventure Island on the NES (my mom constantly dragged me to her childhood friend's house and my autistic ass ignored everyone to play the funny video game box instead, the NES was before my time)

Most likely Super Mario World on the SNES when I was like 3 or 4. My mom had a SNES and it was her favorite game, she was pretty good at it! I most remember Mario 3 on the All Stars Collection though, it was tied with World as my favorite at the time.

first games I can remember playing are Bookworm Adventures, Insaniquarium, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Fatal Fury First Contact. Not exactly sure which game I played first, but I know those are the ones I can remember.

I have no idea what it was called, but we had a macintosh biegeputer when I was a baby and it had some educational game where you would look at fish in the different layers of the ocean. The deepest layer had you moving a flashlight beam around with your cursor to reveal abyssal anglers and deep sea fangly fish.
If that doesn't count, spyro lol

My very first non-school-educational video game, to memory...
Was Super Mario World. It was brand new, and I was at a family friend's house. I still remember him calling Mario, "May-rio".
My first video game EVER, counting the school software, was Number Munchers. It's this ancient DoS math game that is surprisingly haunting.
