Don’t lose hope, yet!

If you are just hearing about this Donald Trump won; Which means that life is going to get rough. Many people will lose their jobs, minority groups will be targeted, and many safeguards will be destroyed.
Point blank. People will suffer.

But even so. I want to be hopeful…
Maybe this is cope but I want to believe that crisis will bring people together. That there is still light at the end of the tunnel. And I know that giving up and being doomer isn’t going to be helpful.

I don’t know what is going to happen, so I’m going to save money, make friends, and hopefully this passes over in another 4 years. I would recommend everyone here make similar plans.

Also, if anyone needs a way to not let depression consume you:
I recommend completing small goals or a daily checklist. Even something as simple as making your bed or getting dressed in fresh clothes can greatly improve your mental state.

Take care, Love and hope.

Gonna be taking a lot more of those "stupid walks for my stupid mental health" over the next 4 years, maybe I might actually lose some weight :hmm:

I spent all of yesterday (it's 12:30 AM just about as I type this) posting and just devastated.

I am scared.

I am angry at the near 20 million people who didn't bother, and handed this win to Trump.

I don't know what to do with myself. I cannot stop crying, it just keep coming back in waves. I had to place a crisis call to mental health, and I have never done that before.

Shit got real. I really did believe we were about to make history in a positive way. When I saw PA turn red on the live map I was in genuine shock.

I understand. I heard the news at work and decided to make this post just in case. If me being hopeful helps even a little, I continue to remain a positive, optimist.
But I also spent half the day staring at the wall in front of my couch thinking. Frustration, sadness, anger, disappointment; all swirled in my mind leaving me unable to do anything for hours.

I am terrified about what’s to come, but I won’t let this stop me.
I will make it through this and I am going to be so fucking smug about it. If I ever encounter a trump supporter complaining or suffering, I will rub this moment in their face as hard as I can. So I will survive so I can make that a reality. I want to see all of us there too.

You know. I wasn't really surprised when he won since the democratic party practically screwed Kamala's chances to win over. I know that I'm gonna be fine even when i'm living inthe south due to my family being so close knit (almost all of us voted differently for either Trump or kamala and yet there were no fights about it), So I'll just say this as my [odd] way of morale boosting

We managed to get through four years of this guy, we sure as shit gonna be able to get through this.

I hate that argument. Things are radically different this time from 2016.

Will America still be here in 2028? Yes. Will 'we' as in the LGBTQ, Immigrants, etc, be unscathed? No. People are going to die. People have already died. There is no "it will be fine". Stop saying things like that.

People are going to die.

The main difference between 2016 and now is that the administration in 2016-2020 didn't really know what to do because they weren't prepared for Trump to actually win and therefore just did what they could do to fuck things up for the time being.
They've had 4 years to prepare things and put people in place to make things way worse than 2016 ever could have been. They now control all three branches of government. They have every means to pack the courts to futureproof their plans. They can hire and fire nearly anyone they so choose. Good luck about those newly placed FTC rulings, hello again to another "Ajit Pai" tier loser in the FCC, here's to another several years of postmaster fuckery on top of the already predicted devastating changes that will affect anyone who's not a straight white dude. The cheating bastard can brush away association with Project 2025, Turning Point USA, PragurU, etc. all he wants to keep his idiotic cult members voting against their best interests, but we all see through it.

That part I'm fully aware of. But i just can't allow myself to stress over this to the point where I'm thinking about ending it all. For right now I'm just going to take this one policy at a time. I've made myself miserable enough times, I'm NOT gonna let the election event's get to me.

Also none of this would've happened if the DNC wasn't full of incompetent dumb asses that practically gave this man a free win

We are all, on the left wing, well aware of how awful the DNC is. None of us like them. I refer to the true left wing. There is no true left party in America.

We vote for them because we have no other option, not because we like them.

Thing is, how big a failure the DNC is, is not as important as how deeply ignorant this country is as a whole. How much damage is about to be done. How many lives are about to be ruined. I find people seguing into topics about the DNC to (often) be dodging the bigger issue.

Now if you want to talk about how Democrats should learn from this to appeal to the internet, and stop campaigning like it is still 1995? Or how they should actually acknowledge the poor- look below the middle class fold for a change? Absolutely.
