is yume nikki niche? i've probably heard about it more than gregtech, which i've also heard a lot about, mostly because i'm autistic but i mean. if you've been on youtube since 2015 or like anime and rpgs in some capacity you will have heard of yume nikki at some point...

I was never a big forum person in the early 2000s (or 2010s for that matter) so maybe I’m just ignorant of the discourse. However yume nikki which is esoteric and mysterious I feel comfortable calling it niche.
Despite the prevalence of homestuck I would call it niche too.
It may also be out of anyone I’ve met, I know that beyond the most popular stuff that they know nothing else
